Sluice valve is a kind of block valve that which is mostly used. It is mainly used to connect or disconnect the line of the medium, and it can not be used to adjust the media flow.

The sluice valve is characterized in its fluid resistance, as the way of the media is straight, that means the direction of the flow won’t change; and it is quite easy to open and close; and the flow direction of the medium is generally unrestricted. The sluice valve can be classified by structure of the stem: the outside stem and the inside stem; and it can be classified by the structure of the valve plate: the wedge type and the parallel type. The wedge type also includes two branches: the rigid one and the elastic one. The rigid valve plate is simple in its structure and small in its size; and the elastic valve plate is good in its tightness. The parallel type is simple in structure, and it can’t seal automatically. It is widely used under a medium or low pressure and a large or medium diameter. The medium of it is usually oil, gas or natural gas.The sluice valve is applied in the pipe, which has a wide range of pressure, temperature and diameter, especially used in the medium and large pipe.
