Tilting check valve is a type of construction of check valves. The basis of the tilting check valve is lifting a disc, pivoted on the periphery, with flow in one direction. The disc lifts and floats in the stream offering minimum resistance to flow. The disc tilt angle results from the balance of the disc weight and hydrodynamic forces. A test setup is designed and modern instrumentation including spectrum analyzer, accelerometers, and vibration software are used to measure and analyze valve oscillations at different operating conditions.
