The so-called stainless steel needle valve is a type of valve, mainly made of stainless steel, having a small port and a threaded, needle-shaped plunger. Common applications of stainless steel needle valves include refineries, liquid petroleum gas and processing plant systems that are difficult to shut down due to solid contents like dust, rust, dirt, etc. It allows precise regulation of flow and leak tight, although it is generally only capable of relatively low flow rates. A needle valve has a relatively small orifice with a long, tapered seat, and a needle-shaped plunger, on the end of a screw, which exactly fits this seat. The stainless steel needle valve is available in Soft Seat (up to 6,000 psi, Delrin Seat) and Hard Seat (up to 10,000 psi, Metal Seat). Stainless steel needle has four features: Long life expectancy ; Ozone Compatible; Low Cost ; Quick and Easy to Use. The maximum pressure rating with temperature of stainless steel needle valve is 450°F @ 3435 PSIG (232°C @ 236 BAR) and the bursting pressure is about 5000 PSIG (344 BAR).

Meanwhile, hardened movable (pilot) needle valve lengthens the life and provides a reliable seal. The plastic dust cap of stainless steel needle valve protects the stem thread against dust and dirt. What’s more, the backseat construction implies that when the stainless steel needle valve is fully opened, the gland packing is relieved during operation.
