Screwed End Valve

Screwed end valve is a device whose end is connected by the screwed and which regulates the flow of a fluid (gases, liquids, fluidized solids, or slurries) by opening, closing, or partially obstructing various passageways. Screwed end valve consists of the following parts, body, body cap, stem, seat, seal, stem bearing, lock washer, handle, nut and compression ring. The valve is served as per BS5351/ ISO17292 or API 6D standards with wall thickness as per ASTM B16.34. The main materials for the screwed end valve are carbon steel, stainless steel, TFE, ductile iron and so on. The sizes for the screwed end valve ranges from 1/4 to 4". The working pressure is about 200PIS and 800 PIS. The screwed end valve is ideal for the medium such as gas, water and air. There are all kinds of screwed end valves, such as needle screwed end valve, ball screwed end valve and so on. What’s more, a screwed end valve maybe has a rising-stem or non-rising stem.

Male threads of various forms may be used for special purposes, but as a rule screwed end valves have female pipe threads, wither tapered for assembly to taper threaded pipe, or parallel for assembly to taper or parallel threaded pipe. In taper-to-taper and in taper-to-parallel connections, the pressure-tight joint is made on the threads. In parallel-to-parallel connections, the pressure tight joint is made by compressing a grummet or gasket against the end face of a valve. Screwed ends, usually confined to pipe sizes of 150mm and smaller, are widely used for bronze valves and to a lesser extent in iron and steel valves.
